I'm Completely Changing My Life in One Year

May 2019 I decided I needed to push myself in a way I never had before. As you may know, I have big, audacious dreams for my future but making those dreams a reality will require me to take big, audacious actions. I got tired of writing down the same resolutions year after year because I never committed to meeting my goals. Your twenties are the time where you have the least amount of commitment to others and the most freedom to try new things, and I don't want to wait these precious moments. So I decided that to do an experiment with myself: make as many changes in my life as possible in one year.

Here are some of the areas I'm aiming to make changes in:

Health

Mental Health

  • Learn to manage my emotions, especially anxiety and depression. Take the steps to allow emotions instead of rejecting them.

  • Let go of worrying about other people's opinions of me.

  • Becoming more resilient and appreciating adversity as a method to grow as a person.

Family

  • Create a closer relationship with my family and check in on them more often.

Friendships

  • Cultivate friends who consistently talk about things in inspiring, positive ways. Learn from people who have accomplished more than me.

  • Become a person who can attract those types of friends.

  • Love everyone, not just the ones Iā€™m comfortable loving.

Experiences

  • Travel to the places my budget currently allows.

  • More things that make me uncomfortable.

  • Being present and savoring each and every moment.

  • Being kinder to myself.

  • Spend less time on my phone.

Finances

  • Increase my income and create more revenue streams.

  • Start investing my money.

  • Learn best ways to build wealth.

  • Beef up my emergency fund.

  • Pay down my debts.

Career

  • Get a new job or internship. And maybe a second job or internship.

  • Learn as much as I can from another industry to use in my business.

  • Fully commit to turning my hobby into a side hustle (which will one day be my main source of income, WooHoo!)

Spirit

  • Learn about God, study His word, align my life to his teachings.

  • Learn to trust Him instead of trying to control and worry about every situation.

  • Join a spiritual community

Environment

  • Take daily steps to keeping my space clean instead of letting things pile up.

  • Move into an apartment.

  • Make my environment as inspiring and peaceful as possible.

  • Enjoy more time in nature.

Today is January 8th, 2020, which means I have only 114 days until May 1st. That thought scares me because I don't feel like I've accomplished much on this list yet but I have made progress. That means it's crunch time folks! But, I'm ready for it. To keep everyone in the loop for how much I've accomplished from this list, I'll turn the text into a link to a blog post about that goal once I complete it. For now, stay tuned!
