5 Face Masks You Can Make Right From Your Fridge

Face masks are a popular and relaxing way to get better skin

...but not everyone can afford the pricey, professional facials. That’s why I love homemade facial masks made from the natural, nutrient rich ingredients that are right in your fridge. You will know exactly what's in the mask and you can customize it to meet your personal skin needs. It’s a cheaper alternative, but you still get all the great benefits of a regular facial when it’s done on a constant basis. Here are 5 of my favorite homemade facials.

Avocado Honey Lemon Mask

·         Half an avocado

·         1 tbsp. honey

·         1 tsp lemon

Benefits: Avocado is full of rich fats and antioxidants that support healthy skin. Honey provides anti-bacterial properties that can fight acne breakouts with ease. Lemon is a natural skin brightener to get rid of dark spots and evidence of old acne scars.

Cayenne Pepper and Honey Mask

·         1 tsp. cayenne pepper

·         1 tsp. honey

Benefits: Cayenne pepper increases blood circulation in the skin and is rich in vitamin C and E, which can help heal acne and even out your skin tone. Honey is antibacterial which heals acne and it’s soothing to balance out the spice of the cayenne.

Yogurt, Olive Oil, and Lemon Mask

·         1 tbsp. yogurt

·         1 tsp. lemon

·         1 tsp. olive oil

Benefits: Yogurt contains lactic acid, which gently exfoliates away dead skin cells and brightens your skin. Lemon is also a brightener and is antibacterial to help with breakouts naturally. Olive oil is a rich fat that provides moisture and nutrients to the skin.

Egg White Mask

·         One egg white

·         1 tsp. lemon juice

Benefits: Egg whites have a natural skin tightening effect when they are left to dry on the skin, which helps to minimize pores. Adding lemon to the mask will make your skin brighter and more even toned due to its exfoliating properties.

Coconut Oil, Charcoal, & Baking Soda

·         ¼ cup of coconut oil

·         2 charcoal capsules

·         1 tbsp. baking soda

Benefits: Coconut oil is moisturizing from its rich, fatty acids and contains nutrients like, vitamin E and proteins. Charcoal is a natural detoxing agent that binds to impurities in the skin. Baking soda is an exfoliator that loosens dead skin and is a natural antibiotic to heal pimples faster.

Once you’ve chosen the mask you’d like to make, mix all of the ingredients together, apply it to your face, and leave it on for at least 15 minutes. Then rinse it off, pat dry with a clean towel, and enjoy your beautiful glowing skin!
